Brad Stire is an artist, photographer, and longtime follower of the Blue Angels and their acolytes. Every summer as a child, his family traveled from Louisiana to Pensacola Beach, FL to catch the yearly demonstration: an air show headlined by the six-plane team. A move to South California revealed to him that the Blue Angels’ reach extends well beyond the Florida Gulf Coast.
The life and spirit of these events felt dear to him, compelling him to travel to the diverse venues that would host airshows throughout the Southwest United States. His methods of visual representation are distinguishable from other photographic works and practices — compositing graphics, images from the internet, and photographs from his personal archive.
